According to the evolution of almost all technologies, everything tends to get smaller and smaller while maintaining or increasing its performance. Well, this also happens in a way to car engines. After all, we are now able to buy cars with incredibly small engines that are capable of offering really interesting power.
So this time it was Volkswagen that added the 1.0L 3-cylinder engine to the new Volkswagen Golf!
In fact, when we hear about a small 1.0L engine the first thing that may come to mind is the low power or strength of these engines, right?
Wrong! Currently, this is something that no longer characterizes this type of engine due to new technologies and the addition of turbos. Incidentally, this Volkswagen offer offers around 110 horsepower.
110L TSI 1.0L engine will equip the new Golf!
It is nothing new for anyone that the engine is one of the focal points of any car, which in fact guarantees most of the driving experience (be it good or bad). However, today many enthusiasts prefer the price and savings at the end of the month, leaving games for other times in their lives.
So, on paper, this new 1.0 turbocharged Golf engine will bring this, savings at the time of purchase and perhaps even during use, as maintenance costs are potentially lower.
Let’s get to the numbers!
In light of the above, know that the result in the official WLTP test (which tends to be the closest to reality), the new 1.0L TSI engine had pleasant results. This is because everything indicates that in this model this engine will be able to hover consumption of just 4.41 – 4.74L / 100km.
Interestingly, we also have a generous acceleration from 0-100km / h in 10.2 seconds with its 6-speed manual transmission.
You can get this engine only in the most basic version of the new VW Golf!
As we can see everything indicates that this new engine will be offered to consumers looking to save the most when buying their new Golf. Or does the manufacturer have a specific part of the market in mind?!
That said, we can see that this engine could be chosen mostly by large companies that want to renovate and save as much as possible on a large fleet of vehicles. After all, for the average user, the 1.5L engine of 130 horsepower will be the most recommendable with the difference in the price of “only” 575 pounds.
